Select Water Committee - August & September Updates
Select Water Committee
I wanted to serve on this committee because threats to water quality in our community affect our health, our ecosystem and wildlife, and our economy. We can improve our water quality through planning and funding interventions. This is not a partisan issue, this issue affects us all equally and an opportunity to find common ground solutions that help all Wyoming residents.
The committee funded a study to determine the scope of the problem with wastewater management around the Hoback River. There is no sewer district in Hoback and most people are on well and private septic systems. The second project we tackled is working with state and federal resources to offset the cost of improving the county’s current wastewater treatment plant. This solution is key to protecting the watershed and the Snake River.
